Two knights are more than one ⎸Fischer vs Panov, Skopje 1967

Robert James Fischer vs Vasil Panov, Caro-Kann, Two Knights Variation
Skopje 1967, Round 6

Bobby Fischer’s performance at the Skopje tournament was full of controversy (as it often had been). He threatened to forfeit his games, and in round 10 he finally did so. He asked for the audience to be removed from the playing hall and for the chess sets to be replaced. When the organizers failed to meet his demands he resigned. He was allowed to replay his lost round 10 game afterwards, though.

This gave him a chance to win the event nonetheless, despite having forfeit a game. He came in first, half a point in front of the strongest Yugoslav player, Matanović and Efim Geller.
