Aronian’s trademark English proves too much to cope with for his opponent once again. Sethuraman managed to achieve an equal position out of the theoretical Agincourt defense in the English, but then came under a swift, unexpected attack and failed to defend well.
A game in which Aronian made six queen moves in the opening and Sethuraman didn’t exploit that on time. This is a great example of how strong attacking players put pressure on their opponents with relentless advances on both sides of the board. Games like this one should be analysed in detail by those who want to improve their conversions in better positions and by those looking to get attacking ideas in 1.c4 openings.
