LIVE Blitz Chess Commentary #322: Alekhine’s Defense, Modern Variation

This is a blitz chess game I played as white with time control 3|2. The opening was the Alekhine’s Defense, Modern Variation. White obtains the bishop pair, and maintains a pawn in black’s position on e5 in this one. Whether e5 is a strength or weakness in the position is difficult to say. On one hand it does provide an outpost square on d6 for a piece, but black maintains a solid structure, and one that is in good harmony with the remaining bishop.
