In the video “Learn to Play the English the Easy Way” by GM Roman Dzindzichashvili, we see a few simple set-ups that will help us to play the English opening.
In this video, the focus is on getting White an easy game using this opening. All of the lines that are examined give White a good advantage, or at least a comfortable position. This makes learning the English very easy, because we do not need to memorize a lot of different move orders.
The starting position appears after 1.c4 e5 2.Nc3. From here Roman talks about Black’s three most popular moves (2…Nf6, Nc6 and Bb4) and how White can play simply against each of them. There are many tricks that Black must watch out for as well, which can cause White to gain an advantage quickly if Black is not careful.
How does Roman prove that White gets an easy game in all of the lines? What ways can White increase his advantage if Black is not aware of the pitfalls? What the video to find out!
