GM Roman shows us his favorite game – Kasparov versus Kavalek and in his own words it is magnificent! The King’s Indian is Kasparov’s choice and we see the GM use the Qd8-e8 maneuver before launching with …f5. Kasparov’s amazing Nb4 move initiates deep complications by offering his f4 Knight as a sacrifice.

As this game is so short Roman examines some of the sidelines before showing us the remainder of this fascinating and creative masterpiece. Roman explains Kasparov used energetic and creative play in tandem with multiple tactical devices. Roman in analysis does find a draw in a subvariation but this was extremely hard to spot.
