Learning Openings the Easy Way, Traps & Novelties

Traps are good but never at the cost of your position being compromised is Roman’s message in this video. The psychology of playing for traps is looked at and the correct ‘free traps’ that should be set. The trap examples looked at are:

The Open Sicilian (Qxd4 variation) not an early trap in this opening but at the end of the opening the …b5 then e5! trap is explained and the importance of the h6 preparation move in the trap – a well hidden trap as Roman puts it, finally, he explains how to sense the danger of traps.

Roman then shows us a nice trap in The English Defense that should not be repeated.
