This video is a little shorter, because it was a very short game (19 moves!). Kaidanov played the opening complacently and did not push for an advantage. As such, he was duly punished for his lack of tactical awareness and GM-Elect Sam Shankland aptly won, beginning with 16. … Qh4!. Great game by the young grandmaster, and it will certainly be interesting to see how he performs throughout the rest of this year’s US Championship.
