The 2013 World Chess Championship began with 4 fighting draws but challenger Magnus Carlsen has gained serious momentum in rounds 5 and 6 with impressive wins against the defending World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand. In the below chess video, we will take a look at just how Carlsen was able to break down Anand’s defenses 67 moves. By move 37, the position had looked very equal with a slight edge for black, but Anand tried to force matters to gain activity which resulted in an endgame with a one pawn minus. Carlsen now leads the 2013 World Chess Championship with 4 points vs Anand’s 2 points after 6 rounds in this 12 game match with a first prize of six hundred thousand euros.
